The Men Of Troy Or The Gators?
With all due respect to Urban Myer and what he has done at Florida. He has done a great with two BCS chamiponships. But for those people who say that Florida is the best program in the country are foolish. Southern Cal ( I will never call them USC b/c I am from THE USC...South Carolina that is!) and Pete Carrol deserve that honor. Both Myer and Carrol have two championships but Carrol has been dominant every year for 8 straight. Myer has been great in two, and good in two. (Anybody remember the Capital One Bowl loss to Michigan?) There are a few things to back up my point:
USC has 7 straight top four finishes. Florida hasn't had 2 straight yet under Myer
7 straight conference titles. Florida hasn't had 2 straight yet. And dont give me the foolishness about the Pac-10. They had 8 different teams go to the Rose Bowls in the 90's. Atlanta was a Bama-Gator party throughout the 90's.
The Trojans will play anybody, including the SEC. Big Balls Pete has been to Auburn, Arkansas, Virginia, Nebraska, Ohio State, Sotuh Bend. Not any Citadels and Charleston Southerns on that list, can't say the same for the Gators
The Trojans would win! Be honest with yourself. The Trojans have a better chance of losing to Stanford than Florida. You don't out coach Carrol in a Big Game. Do you really believe that Tebow would of run all over that Trojan defense last year? Didn't think so.
Myer is certainly an elite coach, worth every penny. Carrol not only wins, the Trojans are the rock stars of college football. The Trojans would have no problem flying down to the Swamp for a game with the mighty Gators. Myer won't even go to Miami (You know Saban would take on the Trojans, he would lose, but he would play em')
The SEC is the best football conference in America, no doubt. But, the best program lies in the land of Troy. Oh, and by the way, it doesn't hurt that the Trojans are also the place where pro scouts visit the most.
