Ariza Makes Mistake Of a Lifetime!

Trevor Ariza had a great season with the Lakers.... He will probably do ok in Houston, but playing for the Lakers is gonna be a lot different than playing for the Rockets....

Trevor's jumpshot, cutting to the basket, defensive abilities stood out this year playing for his hometown team, but all of this ability will be forgotten when he finds that those wide open jumpers arn't readily available due to the absence of one Kobe Bean Bryant.  Without the ability to shoot the wide open jumper, your defender can play you man on man, which will make you have to work alot harder on getting your shot off.  Averaging nine to ten points a game is ok for a role player, but taking it upon yourself to be the man, night in and night out?  I don't see your game at that point as of yet, you should have re-signed with the Laker's, recognizing this is a business, placing yourself in the shoes of  the business owner and saying to yourself what you would have done.  Bigger names than yours will be taking paycuts this upcoming season and pride has derailed a lot of talented individuals in all sports not just basketball.  The Laker's offered you the same exact money, and you acted like Horace Grant instead of a person with a semblance of business sence.  You are leaving a market that allows you the ability to make we'll say 1 million in endorsement money vs.. a smaller market that  allows you to be the man for a season? (Yao, and TMac will be back) hopefully... dude you are smelling yourself, you are a bonifide NBA player, I give you that, but there is no way you can carry a franchise, sell tickets, and handle this weight on a nightly basis.  Possibly two years away... but right now, you have so much more that you could have learned from Phil and Kobe.  I have an idea for you, try not to burn that bridge you walked on with Kobe and Phil because you will need their ear from time to time.  The guy you picked as your agent, went in and demanded 7 to 8 million dollars a year for you... lol... Rasheed, Ron Artest, AI, Marion, will all be working for the league minimum this year, and you wanted more money than each of them?   Good Luck Trevor!
