Sami Khedira to Juventus: Latest Transfer Details, Reaction and More
Juventus have confirmed the signing of Real Madrid midfielder Sami Khedira on a free transfer, bringing to a close long-term speculation surrounding the German star's future.
Khedira signed on a four-year contract and will join the club when his Madrid deal expires on July 1, as reported in Juve's official confirmation.
The likes of Arsenal and Schalke have been linked with Khedira for months, per Alex Richards of the Daily Mirror, but it is Serie A champions Juve who have snapped him up after a frustrating tenure in the Spanish capital.

With Toni Kroos added last summer, Khedira became surplus to requirements for Los Blancos, and it showed. He appeared in just 11 La Liga matches in 2014-15, finishing with a pedestrian 6.30 average match rating, per WhoScored.com.
However, as he has proven over five years with Real, and as part of the World Cup-winning German national team, Khedira is a phenomenal player and a terrific anchor at the base of the midfield.
As the Manchester Evening News' Samuel Luckhurst notes, Juventus have done well in signing the 28-year-old:
At his best, Khedira is a defensively minded, box-to-box midfielder. He is capable of both supporting the back four and pressing forward to win the ball back, and he isn't afraid to get physical in order to regain possession for his team. He's not afraid to make irrepressible runs forward, spurring on the attack, either.
Khedira could well soften the blow of Paul Pogba's potential summer departure, with the Frenchman widely tipped to leave Juventus this summer, per Bleacher Report's Matteo Bonetti:
Serie A writer David Amoyal thinks his presence will allow others to evolve:
Effort is never an issue with Khedira, who is as likely to be seen scurrying to support a full-back who has been caught forward as he is scrambling back to ensure he's the last man between an attacker and the keeper.

The past two years have seen him struggle with fitness problems. He missed nearly five months during the '13-14 season with Madrid due to a knee injury and has been on the fringes of the side in recent times.
However, if Khedira can shake off the rust and rediscover his best form, Juventus will be getting a game-changing performer. Without question, Khedira could end up being one of the most important transfers of the summer.
