Women's Basketball Team Scores on Wrong Hoop, Other Team Tries to Do the Same

Kyle NewportJun 4, 2018

If you get confused watching this clip of a basketball game between Mexico and Slovakia, you are not alone.

After a Slovakia player missed a pair of free throws, Mexico grabbed the rebound. All of a sudden, neither team wanted to shoot at the proper basket.

A Mexico player made an easy, uncontested layup at theย sameย basket that Slovakia had just shot free throws at. (In this FIBA video, you can see that Mexico received two points for the layup.) Oddly, Slovakia then dribbled the ball down to the other end of the court as if that's what was supposed to happen.
