NCAA Football Top Returning Statistical Leaders In 2009: Passing
We all know about the players that are getting the preseason attention. It also happens that they are the top three of this list. However, besides all of that, what I was wondering was “who are the other top returning players based on stats?”
Here is the first list of a series showing the top returning statistical leaders.
The Top 10 returning passers
1. Sam Bradford, Oklahoma
Completed 328 on 483 attempts for 4,720 yards and a completion percentage of 67.9. He threw for 50 touchdowns with eight interceptions and was sacked 11 times. He had a rating of 180.84. Bradford finished 2008 at No. 1.
2. Colt McCoy, Texas
Completed 332 on 433 attempts for 3,859 yards and a completion percentage of 76.7. He threw for 34 touchdowns with eight interceptions and was sacked 24 times. He had a rating of 173.75. McCoy finished 2008 at No. 3, but is the No. 2 returning passer.
3. Tim Tebow, Florida
Completed 192 on 298 attempts for 2,746 yards and a completion percentage of 64.4. He threw for 30 touchdowns with four interceptions and was sacked 15 times. He had a rating of 172.37. Tebow finished 2008 No. 4, but is the No. 3 returning passer.
4. Zac Robinson, Oklahoma State
Completed 204 on 314 attempts for 2,064 yards and a completion percentage of 65.0. He threw for 25 touchdowns with 10 interceptions and was sacked 15 times. He had a rating of 166.84. Robinson finished 2008 No.5, but is the No. 4 returning passer.
5. Case Keenum, Houston
Completed 297 on 589 attempts for 5,020 yards and a completion percentage of 67.4. He threw for 44 touchdowns with 11 interceptions and was sacked 11 times. He had a rating of 159.91. Keenum finished 2008 No. 9, but is the No. 5 returning passer.
6. Kellen Moore, Boise State
Completed 281 on 405 attempts for 3,486 yards and a completion percentage of 69.4. He threw for 25 touchdowns with 10 interceptions and was sacked 13 times. He had a rating of 157.11. Moore finished 2008 No.11, but is the No. 6 returning passer.
7. Max Hall, BYU
Completed 330 on 478 attempts for 3,957 yards and a completion percentage of 69.0. He threw for 35 touchdowns with 14 interceptions and was sacked 20 times. He had a rating of 156.88. Hall finished 2008 No.13, but is the No.7 returning passer.
8. Todd Reesing, Kansas
Completed 329 on 495 attempts for 3,888 yards and a completion percentage of 66.5. He threw for 32 touchdowns with 13 interceptions and was sacked 31 times. He had a rating of 148.53. Reesing finished 2008 No.17, but is the No. 8 returning passer.
9. Trevor Vittatoe, UTEP
Completed 246 on 418 attempts for 3,274 yards and a completion percentage of 58.9. He threw for 33 touchdowns with nine interceptions and was sacked 25 times. He had a rating of 146.4. Vittatoe finished 2008 No.20, but is the No. 9 returning passer.
10. Jevan Snead, Ole Miss
Completed 184 on 327 attempts for 2,762 yards and a completion percentage of 56.3. He threw for 26 touchdowns with 13 interceptions and was sacked 20 times. He had a rating of 145.50. Snead finished 2008 No.21, but is the No.10 returning passer.
