Smackdown Report: Thoughts On WWE's New A Show
Hello everyone. As always, Thanks for spending a few moments with me today.
After the big shake-up, with 15 wrestlers moving, I do have to say I was pretty happy. I think Raw got a nice boost in the arm with Swagger, Bourne, and Henry. I would even dare say your looking at a near future champ with Swagger.
I also think moving Shelton Benjamin will be a good move for his career. I think he can start over with little pressure on his head. I hope he takes his time their to develop his promo skills.
The moves that got me really pumped were the Heart Dynasty going to Smackdown. It is with out any doubt that Smackdown is now the A brand show. This move will only make the brand stronger.
As it stands now Smackdown not only has the best workers in WWE. They now have most of the up and coming talent. If I had my way they would just move Smackdown to Monday nights at this point.
The new feuds and championship matches that can be had now are endless. The one thing that does bother me though, is that Smackdown is very top heavy with heels.
At some point we are going to have to have a few face turns in order to balance things out. I’m sure though they will figure things out in the end.
We finally have what some credible tag teams in the WWE. With teams like the Colons, Heart Dynasty, Legacy and Cryme Tyme, we should see some good competition.
It will be nice to see the belts defended more often, as it seems the WWE is doing so. Logic says that the Heart Dynasty will have the tag straps sooner then later.
As far as the Intercontinental Title is concerned, it would appear to me they are giving it some life again. I'm not fully convinced yet though. If it’s defended on a regular basis with good competitors then maybe I will drink the Kool-Aid.
When I look at the Heavyweight Title picture all I can do is smile. There are so many possibilities for fresh feuds on Smackdown right now. When you have guys like Edge, Punk, Hardy, and Jericho at the top of the roster it can only be a plus.
The only weak spots on the Smackdown roster right now are Kane, the Undertaker and Khali. I say this not because I don’t like them, but let's be honest: What will they do with them?
I don’t see Kane being anything more than a glorified jobber. They aren’t going to push him for the title that’s for sure. I think he was better of staying on raw.
As far as the great Khali goes, he most likely wont be anything more then a side act to fill in the card.
The Undertaker, from what I hear, isn’t ready to comeback anytime soon. Once he does though I am sure he will be right on top of the roster. Until that happens, though, I can’t worry too much about it.
Smackdown continues to give us good action week in and week out. I don’t see how this will change in any way. They also spare us the drama we are forced to watch on raw each week.
With the new additions that were added I can only guess that things will get better.
Thank you for spending a few moments with me today.
As aways, have a great day, and God bless.
