Fantasy Football Keeper League: Striking Gold With Rookies

Sean KenealyJul 1, 2009

Well seeing if you are into keeping up with Fantasy Football all year round you might want to read this. In this article I will be taking a look who I consider to be the top-5 Rookies to pick up in you are in a keeper league or just regular fantasy football seasonal type league.

1. Michael Crabtree- I got to see this guy play first hand. He is a ball player. He wasn't the fastest guy in the draft nor was he the tallest but in college he was the go to guy on offense for the Texas Tech Red Raiders. He is simple going to an amazing wide-receiver in the NFL look for this rookie to put up big numbers and be the go to guy for the 49ers much like he was for TTU.

2. Knowshon Moreno- The Broncos for the last few seasons have had some good running backs just not that one go to running back that we were so use to. The guy who would get 25 to 30 touches per game. Well this year under Josh McDaniels I expect Moreno to get at least 20 to 25 touches a game and will have a 1000 yard season as well as more then a few touchdowns.

3. Jeremy Maclin- The Eagles have a nice young core of wide receivers now and with Maclin they are looking to have a promising passing game. Maybe not this season but next year for sure they will be tough. So Maclin is going to get a lot of balls thrown his way if he can grab that third wide-out spot on the Eagles.

4. Mark Sanchez- I know I know rookie QBs always seem to struggle although there is always that one QB who turns a lot of heads in his rookie season. I do think Mark will go through some growing pains but in the end he will be a great QB, just give him time to grow. Maybe if you are looking toward the future in your keeper league then he will forsure be your guy.

5. Chris Wells- Wells is a solid power back. I think he will get limited touches in his rookie season but a lot of times in the NFL running backs get hurt so Chris Wells is defiantly a good 3rd string running back to have on your bench should Tim Hightower go down.
