BCS Conferences Non-Conference Games Broken Down
Yesterday I wrote a article about the Big Ten's non-conference schedule. I would first like to apologize to the Big Ten fans. I was not trying to pick on the Big Ten. They were just the first conference I looked at and the numbers surprised me.
Okay, all of the six major conference have a week of non-conference schedules. Now some of the teams in those conference's might have a good non-conference schedule, but overall they are all bad.
Here is my break-down:
ACC
- 48 games
- 39.58 percent vs BCS schools
- 31.25 percent vs FBS schools
- 29.16 vs FCS schools
BIG 10
- 44 games
- 25 percent vs BCS
- 54.54 percent vs FBS
- 20.45 percent vs FCS
BIG EAST
- 40 games
- 35 percent vs BCS
- 40 percent vs FBS
- 25 percent vs FCS
BIG 12
- 48 games
- 22.91 percent vs BCS
- 58.33 percent vs FBS
- 18.75 percent vs FCS
SEC
- 48 games
- 29.16 percent vs BCS
- 47.91 percent vs FBS
- 22.91 percent vs FCS
PAC 10
- 30 games
- 36.6 percent vs BCS
- 50 percent vs FBS
- 13.3 percent vs FCS
This is my order of the top Conferences
- PAC 10
- ACC
- BIG EAST
- BIG TEN
- SEC
- BIG 12
Now, this is, in order, representing quality of non-conference games not who is the best overall:
All conferences need to work on their non-conference schedule. This is just my thoughts on the subject please stop scheduling FCS schools.
