Tickets to 2014 Stanley Cup Final at Madison Square Garden Won't Come Cheap

Kyle NewportJun 2, 2014

The New York Rangers are making their first Stanley Cup Final appearance since 1994, but any fan who wants to see the games at Madison Square Garden is going to have to pay up.

The 2014 Stanley Cup Final will begin in Los Angeles on Wednesday, June 4. As of 1 p.m. ET on Monday, June 2, tickets on StubHub for Game 3 and Game 4 in New York were going to cost fans a bundle.

Here are the lowest prices for Game 3, which is the most important hockey game played at Madison Square Garden in two decades:

It's not a bad view for the cheapest seat available:

The cheapest seats for Game 4, which could see the Cup hoisted by one of the two teams, were slightly more expensive:

In comparison, tickets for Game 1 (starting at $478.50) and Game 2 (starting at $549.99) at the Staples Center are going for much less.

One reason as to why there is a big difference in the prices in New York and Los Angeles could be that the Kings made, and won, the Stanley Cup Final just two seasons ago. Unfortunately for Rangers fans, the long wait to see their team once again battle for the Stanley Cup won't come cheap.
