Richard Sherman, Seattle Seahawks Star in Cooking Promo with Michelle Obama
Richard Shermanโs cooking can save your life, kid.
The Seattle Seahawks cornerback recently joined Russell Wilson, Earl Thomasย and Michelle Obama in the White House kitchen to shoot a promotional video for the first ladyโs โLetโs Moveโ campaign.
Jay Busbee of Shutdown Corner spotted the promotional video, which shows Sherman and company cooking up a lean entree of salmon cakes, succotash and peppersโall the things kids love!
Obama acted as sideline reporter and interviewed Sherman, who went into an obligatory remixing of his famous NFC Championship rant.
โWell let me tell you, we the best chefs in the game,โ Sherman said. โSo when you try us with an easy meal like salmon cakes and succotash, thatโs the result you gonโ get.โ
Now, before you jump in a campfire, remember Sherman is trotting this old hat out for the kids.
The Letโs Move campaign is dedicated to battling childhood obesity and inspiring Americaโs youth to do anything besides congeal in front of screens. (Youโll do plenty of that later in life, kiddos!)
As for the Seahawks, this video was likely taken during their trip to the White House earlier this month. The only member missing was running back Marshawn Lynch.
Lynchโs mother, Delisa Lynch, told Bob Condotta of The Seattle Timesย her son didnโt feel like going.
โNo particular reason was given to me,โ Delisa said. โHe just said he didnโt want to go.โ
Rest assured, Lynch wouldโve been the last person the first lady wouldโve invited for her video. No child is going to pick lean protein and omega-3s over a handful of Skittles.
Kids arenโt about that succotash.
