More on Patty Mills
Here are some articles from Down Under about our late second round pick, Patrick Mills. I'm a big fan of Mills. Most mocks had him going late first round, so I was very surprised he was still on the board when our last pick came around.
I'm hoping he gets a shot in summer league, even though Bayless is supposed to get most of the time at PG in Vegas. I think they'll both be out on the court at the same time, as Mills is not a pure PG either.
A Western Conference scout said...."Because of his size and how he played with the Aussies, he's always regarded as a point guard. I didn't see him breaking down and creating. He's most effective when the ball is not in his hands and he's coming off picks."
Hopefully Mills can have more joy than those Australians who've been linked with the Oregon franchise before: Chris Anstey (albeit as part of a trade), CJ Bruton and Luke Schenscher.

FROM ABOVE ARTICLE: In Beijing Mills announced himself to the world. Some will say tongues got wagging after his impressive performance in an Oceania series against New Zealand, but really with all respect to the Tall Blacks, no matter how many points, assists or steals you rack up against them, your stats aren't going to jump off your resume to prospective employers.
But knocking down 20 points against Team USA in a quarter final loss at the Olympics will.
