United States-Brazil: Confederations Cup Final Preview

Throughout this Confederations Cup tournament, the United States and Brazil have taken two totally different paths on their way to the final, but both will meet for the second time in this tournament to decide who will win the Confederations Cup.

During this tournament, the United States lost their first two games in the group stage to Italy by a 3-1 score and Brazil by a 3-0 score. However, they were able to advance to the next round based on a goal differential that favored the Americans after they beat Egypt 3-0, and Italy lost to Brazil 3-0.

In the semifinals, the United States then pulled off an upset for the ages as they beat the best team in the world, team Spain by a 2-0 score, and surprised everyone as they made it to the finals.

However, the Brazilians took a totally different path, as beat Egypt, the U.S. and Italy on their way to the semifinals.

In the semifinals against South Africa, everything changed as they were only able to beat tournament host South Africa by a 1-0 score on a late goal by Daniel Alves to get Brazil into the final against the Americans.

Here is a preview of what to expect from both the United States and Brazil for this Confederations Cup final.

United States:

After their stunning upset over Spain on Tuesday, the United States will be heading into this game against Brazil with lots of momentum, despite their 3-0 loss to Brazil just ten days earlier.

In this game, the U.S. will be without midfielder Michael Bradley, as he was red carded in the 86th minute against Spain, which causes him to be suspended for the final.

In this game, expect the Americans to do several things in order to ensure success.

The first thing to expect is that they will want to build on their success against Spain in this match.

After barely scraping by South Africa on Wednesday, Brazil find themselves in the Confederations Cup final, where they will take on the upstart Americans.

In this game, the Brazilians will be trying for their record breaking third Confederations Cup trophy, as they previously have won the tournament in 1997 and 2005.

In this game, expect the Brazilians to do several things in order to ensure success.

The first thing that you could expect from the Brazilians is that they want to test the U.S. defense early and often, and will get as many shots on Tim Howard as possible.

The second thing to expect is that the Brazilian defense and goalie Júlio César will be on top of their game when the U.S. attacks them.

The third thing to expect from Brazil is that they want to win this game early on so the American's can't gain momentum by holding off Brazil.

The fourth and final thing to expect from this match for Brazil is that they think that they can easily win this game, and they expect to win this Confederations Cup.

Finally, this Confederations Cup final will be a great game to watch between the United States and Brazil. The Americans know that this will be considered to be another David vs Goliath match up, but they expect themselves to play a great game and can get the win.

For Brazil, they know that they can't give the Americans any hope at all during this match, and losing this match would be considered to be a disappointment to lose, considering how well Brazil has done in this tournament.
