California Chrome knows how to put on a show and generate a following. After dominating at the Kentucky Derby, the horse made things a little more interesting at the Preakness Stakes.

With his sights firmly set on completing the Triple Crown, California Chrome hasn't just grabbed the attention of hardcore horse racing fans; almost everyone is taking notice.

The reaction to the colt's win has been amazing. Take a look at the notables who have chimed in since California Chrome crossed the finish line at Pimlico.

From a man who knows a little something about threes:

Former college stars with legendary fathers are rooting for California Chrome to make history:

Guys from the sweet science and one who used to script his scraps have also jumped on the horse's bandwagon:

The New York Mets are in fourth place in the National League East, so the public relations guy totally has time to talk about California Chrome:

Though that seems like a joke, it probably isn't. As bizarre as it sounds, it could lead to the biggest attendance day of the season for the Metropolitans.

Hold the Party

Late on Sunday afternoon, news broke of a controversy centered around nasal strips, and it could prevent California Chrome from running at the Belmont Stakes.

Gasp.

Per Steve Almasy and Ray Sanchez of CNN.com, California Chrome's team might have to choose between using nasal strips and chasing history at the Belmont Stakes.

Per Almasy and Sanchez, a formal request must be made to the New York Gaming Commission to allow the horse to wear his strips.

There hasn't been a Triple Crown winner in horse racing since 1978. Let's hope a technicality doesn't kill the buzz this horse has created for the sport.
