The First Ever OKC Thunder Draft Pick Has Its Possibilites

After the initial feelings of disappoint wore off for Thunder fans on losing  out on drafting Blake Griffin, frowns quickly turned to smiles. History will be made tonight for the Thunder franchise because commissioner David Stern will call the name of the first ever draft pick in our history at No. 3 overall.

With all this pomp and pagentry for Thunder fans to handle tonight GM Sam Presti still has a huge job to do. Who does he take at that No. 3 position? Let's break it down shall we?

I see two viable options at the No. 3 pick:

1. Ricky Rubio/Spain-There are two major weakness I see that the Thunder need to address, getting a skilled ball handler, and adding an inside presence. This being said I have decided that the best possible option for this first pick for the Thunder would be to draft Rubio. Why Rubio you ask? First of all his ball handling and passing ability is second to none to anyone in this draft, even being compared alongside the late "Pistol" Pete Maravich Secondly his years of professional experience at the international level will no doubt help him be successful in the NBA ranks.

2. Hasheem Thabeet/Connecticut-As anyone who followed the Thunder throughout this past season knows they lacked the presence of a big man, especially on the defensive end. This young man lacks the experience with only having played competitively for four years but, with veteran players like Nick Collison, Malik Rose, and assistant coach Mark Bryant to help guide him his learning curve will not last long.
