Match 40 of the 2014 season was moved away from Eden Gardens to a neutral venue due to the ongoing Indian elections.
Kolkata won the toss and chose to field, restricting Mumbai to 37-2 in the powerplay who were thankful for contributions from Ambati Rayudu (33) and captain Rohit Sharma (51).
However, their run rate was not explosive with Sharma dismissed in the final over after hitting four boundaries and two sixes in his 45-ball innings.
