Around The ACC (June 23): Football News From Around The Conference
June 25, 2009
From ACC Blitz
The hype has only just begun for the '09 season, where ACC and SEC powerhouses will face off to start the season. Chick-Fil-A execs have to be smiling because Virginia Tech has already sold out their allotment of tickets. This one already has a lock as my OOC game of the year.
The ACC/SEC showdowns appear to be the new trend (and I for one am psyched), as NC State and Tennessee have agreed to play to open the 2012 season.
Florida State has its own primetime showdown to open the year against Miami, but they'll probably be one player short as Maurice Harris has been suspended for his recent arrest. There is good news for the Noles: recruiting is going fine as they picked up 3 more commitments. And FSU isn't the only ACC team hot on the trail, Maryland grabbed another one for the '10 class.
Finally, on a sour note for Georgia Tech, their KR/PR specialist Roddy Jones has a dislocated wrist. There is some good news there however: he is expected to ready for the season opener.
