Inter Milan legend Javier Zanetti made his final home appearance on Saturday and wore a special captain's armband to mark the occasion.

On his 614th Serie A appearance, he wore an armband that had names of all of his team-mates, past and present. It had a simple message: "Zanetti 4 Ever."

Tributes kept pouring Zanetti, even from his rivals, as AC Milan honoured Zanetti on Instagram with the message, "A special tribute to Javier Zanetti, a loyal opponent in many matches. #fairplay"

One rabid fan invaded the pitch in a Zanetti shirt and was comforted by Zanetti as he was escorted off by security.
