NFL Draft Picks 2014: Updated List of Grades and Selection Order for Each Team
So much for trying to predict where each player would land in the 2014 NFL draft, as the draft picks were seemingly unpredictable over the first two days of action.
Sure, you had your no-brainers. Jadeveon Clowney rightly went No. 1 overall, and he was followed by Greg Robinson at No. 2. But after that, it was really anybody's guess as to what pick would be next.
Expect more of the same on Day 3, the final day of the draft. Just in case you missed any portion of the first two days, the following charts will cover each pick from the the first three rounds. A grade will also accompany the pick, but note that the grade is not simply a player grade. It has a whole lot to do with fit as well.

What to Expect on Day 3
Michael Sam Watch
There has been a ton of speculation regarding defensive end Michael Sam over the past few days, but NFL Network's Ian Rapoport said on air prior to Round 4 that Sam might go off the board sometime in Round 6 or 7:
He added later on that there are a couple of teams to watch:
The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel interviewed several scouts earlier this month regarding Sam, and Bob McGinn of the Journal Sentinel broke down those scouts' opinions on where he'd be drafted:
"Three said fifth round. Three said sixth round. Three said seventh round. Five said they would sign him as a free agent. Seven said they wouldn't sign him as a free agent.
Three scouts from clubs using the 4-3 defense said emphatically that Sam didn't fit their scheme. Conversely, two scouts from teams using the 3-4 defense said emphatically that Sam didn't fit their scheme.
"
The criticisms got worse, though, as one AFC executive told McGinn that Sam really isn't as good as people are led to believe: "It's a tough fit when you're short and slow and a try-hard overachiever. That's the issue."
That said, there should be room on an NFL roster for the reigning SEC defensive player of the year out of Missouri. I expect him to be drafted sometime in Round 6 or 7, keeping with Rapoport's report.
Where Will the Next Tier of QBs Land?
Blake Bortles, Johnny Manziel, Teddy Bridgewater, Derek Carr and Jimmy Garoppolo all went relatively early compared to a few other big-name quarterbacks. NFL on ESPN's Twitter account keys us in on which signal-callers are still left:
One of the winningest quarterbacks in the draft, A.J. McCarron, has still yet to find a home in the NFL (as of the end of Day 2). Why? Well, Rotoworld's Evan Silva tweeted about what he heard ESPN's Adam Schefter say about McCarron:
Rubbing teams the wrong why is definitely a bona fide way to ensure you won't get drafted early. So what if McCarron "knows how to win"? Winning really isn't a measurable stat for quarterbacks. In looking at McCarron's actual skills, he only has slightly above-average arm strength and his footwork in the pocket isn't great. He's slow and succeeded in an Alabama offense that was created so he would succeed.
I think he finds a home somewhere in Round 6.
