Louis van Gaal Set to Be Appointed and Offer Ryan Giggs a Job

The deal to make Louis van Gaal the next manager of Manchester United is close to being completed, according to Jamie Jackson of The Guardian.
Jackson reports that Van Gaal's appointment will lead to Ryan Giggs being offered a job within the coaching staff, and that whether Giggs accepts the job is contingent on the seniority of the role.
Bargain Fee Agreed for Nani?

Nick Lustig of The Daily Star reports that United have agreed a fee with Juventus for the services of Nani.
The Portuguese winger, who has had two dreadful campaigns in a row in a United shirt, signed a new five-year contract last summer. However, he is apparently going to be allowed to leave for just £4 million.
The Rumour Mill Churns

John Ashdown, writing for The Guardian's "Rumour Mill" column, suggests United are in pursuit of Edinson Cavani, Toni Kroos, Thomas Muller, William Carvalho and Mats Hummels.
That list makes it clear why the transfer window is sometimes called "silly season."

Thomas Muller Would Cost £37 Million

German newspaper Bild (h/t The Daily Mail) is reporting that Thomas Muller has been told he needs to ask to leave Bayern Munich, should he want to join Manchester United.
Muller would apparently command a fee of £37 million.
Louis Van Gaal NOT Set to Be Announced This Week

Following the rumour earlier in the week that Van Gaal would be announced ahead of the Southampton game on Saturday, BBC Sport are reporting that United will not, in fact, announce their new manager, still presumed to be Van Gaal, until the end of the season.

Sport Witness, reporting on a story in L'Equipe suggest that due to the Financial Fair Play sanctions due to be brought to bear on Paris Saint Germain, Manchester United may have more joy should they pursue the signature of Edinson Cavani.
Whilst it remains a signing which does not appear to address the key deficiencies in United's squad, and it will be interesting to see what, if any, impact it had on United's other rumoured transfer business.
Shinji Kagawa Staying at United

In great news for fans of joy everywhere, Shinji Kagawa's agent has claimed the Japanese playmaker will not be leaving United in the summer, according to David Wright of The Daily Express.
Although Kagawa has rarely found his best form at Old Trafford, there have certainly been enough glimpses of quality to suggest that his future may still lie with the club.
Will Keane Considering Juventus Move?

According to Simon Jones in The Daily Mail, Will Keane is considering a move away from Old Trafford.
The young striker may have found James Wilson's spectacular debut a difficult watch, given its implications for Keane's place in the pecking order at United.
The report suggests a move to Italy may be on the cards, with both Juventus and Fiorentina showing interest.
Patrice Evra Set to Leave Old Trafford?

Jason Burt in the Telegraph reports that a deal has "been finalised" which will see Patrice Evra follow Nemanja Vidic to Inter.
United fans will certainly miss Evra's relationship with the club and he will leave as a player who is very fondly remembered.

Gary Jones of the Star on Sunday reports that Manchester United are set to beat Chelsea to the signature of Luke Shaw.
The 18 year old is apparently seen as an ideal replacement for Patrice Evra.
