EA Sports UFC: Career Mode and Online Trailer

Brian MaziqueJun 8, 2018

If you're the type of gamer that won't completely buy into the hype of a new sports game until you've seen the career mode, it's time to pay attention to EA Sports UFC.

The game releases on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 on June 17, and on Wednesday, EA Sports dropped the trailer for the career and online modes.

Perhaps the most important piece of information is the fighter creation tool. We get a glimpse of it in the video.

It's hard to say what all will be included from this brief look, but it looked pretty solid.

During my interview with creative director Brian Hayes, it was revealed that the GameFace tool would be used to allow gamers to put themselves into the fight.

Another aspect of the career mode that really stood out was the longevity rating for your created fighter. Essentially, if you fight a reckless style and allow your fighter to take inordinate amounts of punishment in his career, his longevity in the sport will be threatened.

That's brutally realistic and totally cool.

I fully expect there to be room left for the series to grow after this version drops. But so far, it's looking as if EA Sports UFC might just have enough under the hood to keep virtual fighters busy for a while.

Stay tuned for new information on the game as it becomes available.

Also, if you need to catch up on the all the news that has been released on the game up to this point—including the members of the roster we've seen—take a look at the fighter and feature tracker.
