B. Brian Blair Says it was all just a misunderstanding

JoeSportsFanJun 22, 2009

After seeing the published report in the Tampa Tribune that he beat his two teenage children, Brian Blair spoke to the local Fox affiliate in Tampa.

“It’s a real, I guess, unfortunate situation, that it’s a misunderstanding that could have been prevented. I have over 7,000 hours mentoring children, and the last thing that I’d ever do is hurt a kid. Sometimes the hardest kids to mentor are your own.”

Does that mean none of the previous 7,000 hours of mentoring children included your own, the same two you reportedly beat on Father’s Day morning? We need some answers here, people. Even worse, Blair doesn’t sport negburns anymore.

“Blair, clearly stung by his re-election defeat at the hands of Kevin Beckner, he’d been making the political rounds talking about running, perhaps, for the state House of Representatives, a tough call now say the political pundits, after this kind of political damage.”

That line from news reporter Warren Elly is pure gold. Not only does he seamlessly intertwine Blair’s wrestling career as a Killer Bee into the fold, he notes that political pundits don’t think this incident will help him get elected.

Thank you for the clarity, Mr. Elly.
