Juventus Transfer News and Rumours Tracker: Week of April 21

Jack Alexandros RathbornApr 21, 2014

Juventus are on the verge of a third successive Scudetto, a triumph that appears to have been underplayed somewhat.

The Bianconeri have been phenomenal in Serie A, but failure in Europe and the supposed lack of competition back home has diminished the size of their achievement to an extent.

Some significant moves this summer will be necessary for the Old Lady to kick on in Europe and become serious contenders.

Here are the latest news and rumours from Torino.

Conte to United?

1 of 3

Antonio Conte has emerged as a candidate to replace David Moyes at Old Trafford.

Reports in England this week have reported that the former Everton boss could face the sack, and Football Italia are reporting that the Juve manager is one of the prime candidates to take over.

Having failed to break through in Europe, Conte may feel he has unfinished business in Torino, but the temptation to move to a club with bigger resources and to test himself in a new league after completely dominating Italy for three years may prove too much.

Vucinic to Olympiakos

2 of 3

Mirko Vucinic has emerged as a target for Greek champions Olympiakos, according to Greek newspaper Gavros (via Football Italia).

The Montenegrin has fallen down the pecking order at Juve, and almost departed in January, but a move to Inter broke down.

It seems best for all concerned if a move away could be arranged, whether Vucinic would welcome a move away from Italy is another question.

It was reported that he knocked back a move to Arsenal, also in January, due to family reasons.

The opportunity to continue his career in the Champions League with the guarantee of a starring role will be difficult to turn down, though.

Juve in for Eriksen

3 of 3

Christian Eriksen has been linked with a move to Italian champions Juventus, according to The Sun (via Football Italia).

With Spurs in turmoil currentlyit is unclear who will be their manager next seasonthe Bianconeri could take advantage by moving for the Danish international.

Eriksen has been one of the few bright moments in Tottenham's season, and a move to Juve would be a big boost to his career.

Spurs could make a quick profit on the former Ajax star, and Roma, Inter and Milan could compete with the Old Lady for his signature.
