Martin Maldonado Hits Cover off Ball and Baffles Pirates' 3B Pedro Alvarez
April 19, 2014
Milwaukee Brewers catcher Martin Maldonado hasn't had a ton of at bats this season, but he made the most of one during Friday night's game against the Pittsburgh Pirates.
During the top of the sixth inning, Maldonado hit a hard grounder to third base. The hit was so hard that Maldonado actually ripped the cover off of the ball. When third baseman Pedro Alvarez had to field it, he was clearly confused, still throwing the ball to first base anyway.
