B/R Writers Do Their Homework...Focus on Leroy Watson at Toyota Tundra 200

Honor Warren Wells TheTorchJun 19, 2009

The Bleacher Report has made a difference in my life as a writer. I hope it will impact the lives of my students.

I suggested that a few students read the profile of Mr. Leroy Watson, a B/R Senior Writer. Some of them did as I suggested.

There were impressed. They saw his accolades. Expectations were heightened.

Most of all, the students realized the power of preparation, and the power of doing your homework.

The style, preparation level, and discipline reflected in Watson's sports writing is a good role model for any student in academia.

One of the students was a member of the United States Navy. She has traveled the world. She was familiar with the Naval Academy in Annapolis, and the United States Military Academy in New York.

This lady who is a veteran set up her laptop, and googled the meaning of the word, "torrent."  She read Leroy Watson's response and she said that was a powerful word to express Watson's reaction.

I told her that I have read many of Watson's sports articles and I have gained more insight on the lives of the following professional athletes:

Glenn Cunningham

Roy Campanella

Gene Bearnden

John Calipari

Watson is just one of many B/R writers. Their articles are excellent curriculum content, filled with life lessons. Many of the B/R writers do their homework to produce colorful, creative and inspiring stories.

Bleacher Report is more than entertainment, it is education.

Leroy Watson demonstrates the excellent ability to do the following, on the spot at the Toyota Tundra 200, August 2009 click here to read Leroy Watson's update
