Manchester United Stand Side-by-Side with Liverpool in Hillsborough Tribute
April 15, 2014
Manchester United have shown their support for bitter rivals Liverpool as the football world comes together to remember the 25th anniversary of the Hillsborough disaster.
The Red Devils tweeted a touching picture showing United and Liverpool players shaking hands:

It's a gesture that Liverpool had earlier in the year echoed by remembering United's own terrible loss of life in the Munich air disaster:
Thinking of those who lost their lives in the Munich air crash. Some things are more important than football rivalry. pic.twitter.com/bUpOtvTNMl

The two clubs and their sets of supporters have often been at loggerheads as they compete for the biggest prizes in football, but they have shown they can put their rivalry to one side.
