Arsenal Loan Star Joel Campbell Can't Find Self in 2014 World Cup Sticker Album
The 2014 World Cup brings a fresh sticker album from Panini, and for those fans collecting them, the pain of needing those last few elusive stickers to complete the book is all-too-familiar.
Joel Campbell, the Arsenal striker currently on loan at Olympiacos, has a slightly different version of that pain.
Campbell, who hopes to turn out for Costa Rica at the tournament, bought 100 packs of stickers (500 stickers) and couldn't find a single Joel Campbell.
You could imagine his anguish—but you don't have to, because he tweeted it:
"100 sobres y no me encontré #BadLuckCampbell pic.twitter.com/Mwj5MhSkJV
— Joel Campbell (@joel_campbell12) April 9, 2014"
There were no such problems for his Costa Rica team-mate, Bryan Ruiz, however.
On loan at PSV Eindhoven from Fulham, Ruiz not only found his sticker, but recreated the pose:
"Que difícil imitar la cara de concentración antes de un partido!! #álbumpanini La postal que me salió hoy 😉 pic.twitter.com/iXh8OLs431
— Bryan Ruiz González (@bryanruizcr) April 9, 2014"
He admitted in the tweet that it's difficult to recreate the intensity of the moments before a big game—but unlike Campbell, at least he could try.
