Who got screwed by the polls and the computers?

These are just some of the questions asked every year by fans.

In college football, every game matters. When dealing with the computers, you have to win every game which is always ever coaches goal starting a year. You also have to both be in a strong conference and have a formidable non-conference schedule.

Starting this September, fans will flock to stadiums, local bars and their TV sets to watch games.

A true fan will constantly watch their team, as well as any other game on TV—even if it's Troy vs. Florida Atlantic or Texas vs. Oklahoma.

The popularity of the sport grows every year—even with all the arguments about playoff systems, fans still can't get enough of the game.

The last few years have been controlled by SEC schools, but every year starts out with 120 contenders that we weed it down to a select few by late November—and then,  teams pray that the computers like them.

Salaries do not (or at least, should not) exist in college football. Players play for the love of the game and the chance to make the NFL.

But the sport has fallen in some dark times in the last few years.

With the growing popularity and all the money involved, schools are doing everything the can to get players to come to their schools—this sometimes means breaking rules every year to try and get a leg up on the competition.

Players are getting arrested in record numbers and coaches are making excuses for them.

We need to clean up this sport and teach these kids to be good young men in addition to teaching them football.

But no matter who your favorite team or conference is, sit back and get ready to enjoy another heart--breaking, head-pounding. make-you-go-crazy college football season.
