Arsenal Fan Designs 24'x8' 'Wenger Out' Banner for FA Cup Semi-Final at Wembley
An Arsenal fan has revealed that his oversized banner calling for manager Arsene Wenger's resignation is ready to go at the FA Cup semi-final.
Stuart Sherry, referring to himself as "The man with no flag" on Twitter, announced with a tweet that he'd printed something that looked a bit like a flag:
"24 foot by 8 banner all made up and ready for Wembley #WengerOut pic.twitter.com/p1JcYTIQYC
— The Man With No Flag (@StuartSherry) March 26, 2014"
It's not exactly gone down a treat with many fellow fans, with one suggesting in the replies that: "If I see this flag, I'll burn it."
It sums up the strange situation that Arsenal are in. On the one hand, they have stability, Champions League football, and more than a few star names.
On the other hand, their season appears to be in tatters.
And on a third hand (borrow a friend's), this banner will be on display, in theory, at an FA Cup semi-final in a match that could leave them 90 minutes away from picking up a trophy.
Strange times to be a Gunners fan.
