Manchester United Fan Rachel Riley Trolled over Derby Result on 'Countdown'
Getting beaten in the derby usually means a bit of pain and needling from workplace colleagues the next day, a feeling Countdown numbers and letters wizard (and Manchester United fan) Rachel Riley was getting her fair share of on Wednesday.
Frankly, there's probably a fair few Red Devils fans getting it from City supporters after the 3-0 victory at Old Trafford on Tuesday night.
However, most of them don't have an iconic letters board ripe with trolling opportunities:
"How unprofessional! I’m not coming down to the @C4Countdown studio until that mess is cleared up…! :-p pic.twitter.com/IA8dpZVpkZ
— Rachel Riley (@RachelRileyRR) March 26, 2014"
Countdown, for their part, was quite happy to tease Riley a little while longer:
"Poor @RachelRileyRR... Not sure she'll be in the mood to do any work today! #strike pic.twitter.com/My8MzYJIpJ
— Countdown (@C4Countdown) March 26, 2014"
As a former maths student at Oxford University, Riley will know the horror numbers United have recorded this season.
That said, she'll probably also be able to work out that being a Manchester United fan has probably meant more glory than misery over the last 28 years of her life.
