Transfer Window Winners and Losers ๐ญ
Quick first-half Liverpoolย analysis
MIGNOLETโBeaten by two good strikes but hasn't been overly commanding aerially either. Distribution good so far.
JOHNSONโGreat run behind defence for first equaliser. Has been beaten for pace the other way.
SKRTELโA vital goal, but has been bested in the air off set pieces.
AGGERโVery poor first half. Slow to react, not strong enough and debatable positioning.
FLANAGANโLargely solid defensively but Liverpool need him to support more going forward.
GERRARDโBooked early on and needs to watch his step. Passing alternately sloppy and fantastic.
HENDERSONโGreat runs off the ball, working hard for openings, lacking in end product.
ALLENโLike Gerrard, very hit and miss with passing but getting into good positions at times.
COUTINHOโVery involved, good running into space.
SUAREZโAs busy as ever. Cardiff not really coping at all, just about if Suarez can find the end pass or shot.
STURRIDGEโSelfless in his working the channels and link up play. Only one sighter of goal.
Quick second-half Liverpool analysis
MIGNOLETโNot convincing in coming for the ball, couldn't do anything about the goal.
JOHNSONโHis best performance of the season going forward, involved in two goals, but defensively was beaten too easily.
SKRTELโCommanding most of the game and imposing from set pieces. Zaha troubled him when running straight for him though.
AGGERโOn this evidence, Sakho's return to fitness will see him back in the team. Agger was poor, positionally found wanting and weak in direct duels.
FLANAGANโSolid in defence for the most part, replaced near the end.
GERRARDโMuch more consistent on the ball after the break, helped Liverpool control the game.
HENDERSONโAn important part of his work is done off the ball, but he recycled play and linked the game well.
ALLENโContinued his improvement with a good second-half showing. Got forward to support well.
COUTINHOโNot quite as much impact as he would have liked, Cardiff denied him space often.
SUAREZโAnother fantastic performance, another hat-trick.
STURRIDGEโScored a deserved goal and could have been Man of the Match if not for his strike partner. Excellent all-round.
