What to Watch: Penn State Seniors Say Goodbye

Penn State’s wrestling team has two of the biggest stars in the sport with seniors David Taylor and Ed Ruth, and each will be wrestling in his final collegiate match this weekend.
Together, the duo has carried the Nittany Lions over the past three years and amassed an incredible 260-6 record, 95 pins and 222 bonus-point victories.
Ruth is a two-time defending champion in the 184-pound weight class and Taylor is looking for his second career NCAA title at 165 pounds. The duo has been the key to Penn State’s success, and the program would like to send them out on top.
Taylor spoke to Moore on NCAA.com about his mindset heading into the tournament:
"You’ve got to beat five guys. Whoever that is in front of you, you never know what can happen, who you're going to wrestle. You can’t really look forward to it. All you can look forward to is the first round and when you win, you go to the next round. It’s been an incredible experience. It’s hard to imagine not putting on a Penn State singlet. The national tournament is going to be an emotional week.
"
For No. 3-ranked Ruth, the road to another national title will be tough. Both Gabriel Dean of Cornell and Jimmy Sheptock of Maryland are ranked higher than Ruth (No. 1 and No. 2, respectively) and performing well.
Taylor is the clear favorite in the 165-pound division, ranking No. 1 over No. 2 seed Nick Moore of Iowa and No. 3 seed Tyler Caldwell of Oklahoma State. Both seniors will have the chance at glory.
