Another week, another batch of transfer rumors.

It doesn't matter whether we're in a transfer window or whether we're close to being in a transfer window, news outlets will produce transfer stories year-round in order to get page views and ad revenue.

Some have to be true, though. Let's take a look at the latest stories.ย

Olivier Giroud Told to Return to France by His Wife

Good news and bad news for Olivier Giroud.

While his wife has forgiven him for romping with a bikini model, she has ordered him to take their family out of England and return to France.

So says Matthew Nash of Metro,ย who cites a report in theย Sun that states Giroud is so desperate to save his marriage and atone for his irresponsible acts that he is willing to acquiesce.

The speculation seems a bit sensational, but it is not affecting Giroud's play at the moment.

Arsenal Scouting Matthias Ginter?

2 of 2

With Thomas Vermaelen likely to be off in the summer, Arsenal really have no choice but to add at least one center-backโ€”preferably two.

Theย Mirrorย reports the Gunners are targeting Freiburg's 20-year-old Matthias Ginter, which seems a sensible choice for both the present and future.

While Ginter will have very few opportunities early onโ€”unless something happens to either Per Mertesacker or Laurent Koscielnyโ€”the German international would receive excellent training and grooming before assuming a more prominent role in the future.

He would fit right in amongst Arsenal's growing cadre of Germans, which includes Mertesacker, Serge Gnabry, Mesut Ozil, Gedion Zelalem and Lukas Podolski.
