Discussion Board: Create A Match Concept

Callum GrahamJun 15, 2009

This is a discussion article, for you, the reader, to discuss the following topic in the comment section below, enjoy.

It started off with the Royal Rumble match, throw your opponent over the top rope to eliminate him.

Then there was the simple idea of a King of the Ring tournamount, 8 entered in a knockout competition to crown the winner (no pun intended).

In WCW they created War Games in which 2 teams squared off in a bloody battle with members coming down at staggered times, it's now been altered to Lethal Lockdown.

One of the first TNA concept was Ultimate X, where an X was placed above the ring and wrestlers had to pull themselves over to it.

As well as this was King of the Mountain, pin your opponent before you can climb the ladder.

They also created the Fight for the Right competition and Feast or Fired.

WWE have invented Money In The Bank, Elimination Chamber, and the Championship Scramble to name a few.

I am challenging the Bleacher Report community to invent a new Concept for a professional wrestling organisation to use, it can be a match stipulation or every match on a night such as Night of Champions, Lockdown or more recently Breaking Point.

I personally would go for something like a "Championship Open Match" or similar to that where it is an elimination (pin or submission or DQ, I guess) and anyone can enter, providing they have been world champion at least 5 times.

Anyway please have a little think to yourself, if you were on the writing team/board of directors/general manager what would you put forward as a special match or event,

Thank you reading and once again proving,
