Is This Stanley Cup Finals Matchup Inevitable?

Allsports thinks the Penguins came up Aces

If you didn’t watch game seven of the Stanley Cup final last night, you missed a truly entertaining contest.

The Red Wings rolled the dice and crapped out, losing the game by a score of 2-1. The Penguins heroes' in the game were Maxime Talbot, who scored both of Pittsburgh’s goals, and Marc-Andre Fleury, whose stellar performance kept the Wings to just one goal.

He was great in game six as well, when he held the Wings to just one. He really got it together after being pulled in game five.

It was a tough night for Sidney Crosby. The Pens' captain was knocked out of the game in the second period with a knee injury, the cause of which was a very questionable hit by Johan Franzen.

The hit was late at best and likely could have been interference. The hit was a bit of a cheap shot and should have been called. Crosby was forced to watch the third period (other than one quick shift) from the bench, only able to give his teammates moral support.

The rest of the team picked it up for him and came through.

Things of note for the series: Evgeni Malkin was the Conn Smythe Trophy winner for playoff  MVP.

At the ripe old age of 21, Sidney Crosby became the youngest captain in NHL history to lead his team to the Stanley Cup.

Mario Lemieux became the first person in NHL history to win the Stanley Cup as a player and as an owner.

The Penguins got even with Detroit by parading the cup around on Detroit’s home ice, just like Detroit did to them last year.

You have to wonder how Marion Hossa felt about seeing his former team with the Stanley Cup. He put on a brave face but it must have been eating him up inside.

Hossa was a Penguin last year, but decided to sign with Detroit for less money than the Pittsburgh offer because he thought he had a better chance of winning Lord Stanley’s mug with the Wings.

All Allsports has to say is "Marion, stay away from the roulette tables if you go gambling."

P.S. This years' Cup final had to be right up there as one of the best that Allsports has seen.
