Cain Velasquez to Appear in Newest Vince Vaughn Film 'Term Life'
UFC heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez might be away from the Octagon rehabbing a shoulder injury, but he's not totally inactive.
According to Fox Sports' Damon Martin, Velasquez recently landed a role to appear in the newest Vince Vaughn film, Term Life, a picture based on the Image comic of the same name.
In the comic, Vaughn's character, Nick Barrow, sells heists at an auction. However, a job goes horribly wrong, and Barrow becomes the target of hit men, putting himself and his daughter in danger of assassination.

To protect against these killers—who range from dirty cops to mobsters to actual, contracted hit men—Barrow takes out a life insurance policy to ensure his daughter's well-being after his death. Unfortunately, he soon finds out that the benefits of this safeguard do not kick in for 21 days, leaving the audience to enjoy a fun, action-packed adventure as Barrow attempts to stay alive for this three-week stint.
Martin has the details on where Velasquez slides into this equation:
"This marks the first film or acting project for Velasquez, who will play Marco -- the right hand man of Viktor (played by Jordi Molla), who is a ruthless gangster from Mexico who blames Vaughn's character for the death of his only son."
Velasquez joins UFC women's bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey as the latest MMA superstar to land a big-time movie role.
Rousey is slated for a slew of upcoming movies, including The Expendables 3, The Fast and the Furious 7 and Entourage.
What do you make of Velasquez's latest endeavor? Do you think he'll having the acting chops to hang alongside a veteran like Vaughn, or will he fall aside, never to appear on the big screen again?
