The much-anticipated footballing debut of One Direction's Louis Tomlinson may not have been the success his fans had hoped for. The 22-year-old pop star entered a Doncaster Rovers reserves match in the 65th minute, played until the final whistle (it was a 0-0 draw), and immediately fled for the exit.

According to The Independent, he was serenaded off the pitch to abusive chants:

...Many were clearly miffed at Tomlinson's failure to stick around post-match. Their reaction to his swift departure was priceless. Chants of 'you little s--t' from his followers rang in his ears as he made his way towards the exit.

While the substitute right-back may not have appeased his loyal fans, at least his defence maintained Doncaster's clean sheet. Since the whole stunt was orchestrated for charity anyway, it's hard to get too worked up about his decision to snub the supporters.
