Pittsburgh vs. Detroit: Pros and Cons of Game Seven

I am sure that most everyone will con-cede that I am pro-Penguins.

I will not pro-fess to know for sure what will be the con-clusion in the con-test between the Pittsburgh Penguins and the Detroit Red Wings. There are a few die-hards that are con-vinced that the Penguins will not be able to con-trol the Red Wings; but if the Pens con-centrate on pro-ducing the pro-per con-ditions, (stay focused and out of the penalty box) they might just be able to con-tain the Red Wings.

I know the stats on the number of home-team victories in a seventh game. (18 for 18) As a one-time athlete myself, who has competed in many venues, I can’t buy that the crowd con-trols the outcome.

These are pro-fessionals, and they should be immune to the environment. Maybe Pittsburgh can end the jinx. Let’s  pro- ceed and con-tinue to have faith in the determination and pro-ficiency that the likes of Sidney Crosby, Evengi Malkin, and especially, Rob Scuderi, can con-tain.

So much for the play on words. I would dearly like to see Pittsburgh take home THE STANLEY CUP on Friday night.
