    Despite the transfer window remaining shut for another three months, there are some interesting stories surrounding Chelsea at the moment.

    With strikers on the brain this week as the Blues prepare to face Didier Drogba with Galatasaray, it is no surprise that the biggest story surrounds a forward.

Daniel Sturridge Back in Blue?

    talkSPORT are discussing the potential for a former striker to return to Chelsea. Daniel Sturridge has been in excellent form since his transfer to Liverpool last January, however, he cited the fact that people at Chelsea did not believe in him as his reason for leaving. With the majority of Chelsea fans viewing the England striker as selfish, especially in situations where he would be better off passing, it is unlikely that Sturridge will return to Stamford Bridge this summer.

Javier Zanetti Not a Target

    Jose Mourinho spoke to Sky Sports to rubbish the rumours that he has approached 40-year-old Inter Milan legend Javier Zanetti about a summer move to Stamford Bridge.

Drogba Coming Home?

    Ahead of their reunion in the Champions League tonight, The Metro's Gavin Brown has reported that Didier Drogba would be open to a move back to Stamford Bridge this summer. The 35-year-old feels that he still has a lot to offer and would relish the chance to work with Jose Mourinho again.

Fernando Torres to Valencia

    Dave Kidd at the Mirror (h/t James Boylan of the Metro) has reported that Fernando Torres is a top target for prospective Valencia owner Peter Lim.

    If the Blues can claw back any of their £50 million investment, Roman Abramovich will be a happy man indeed. 

Chelsea to Join Chase for Julian Brandt

    According to Alan Nixon at the Mirror, Chelsea are ready to step up their pursuit of 17-year-old German wonderkid Julian Brandt.

    Manchester United are also in the running for his signature, but it is unlikely that Chelsea will be outbid by the Old Trafford club.
