Jerick McKinnon Puts Up Amazing Numbers at NFL Combine
February 23, 2014
When a player can do a little bit of everything, his draft stock is going to rise quickly.
Former Georgia Southern standout Jerick McKinnon did a great job of making a good impression at the NFL Scouting Combine. The name may sound familiar to some, especially Florida Gators fans. McKinnon ran for 125 yards and a touchdown in the Eagles' 24-20 upset victory over Florida.
His numbers were remarkable:
Event | Stat | Rank |
Broad Jump | 11'0" | T-2nd |
Vertical Jump | 40'5" | 3rd |
Bench Press | 32 reps | T-8th |
40-yard dash | 4.41 sec | 6th |
McKinnon may have been tied for eighth in the bench press, but that doesn't do him any justice. Thirteen of the top 15 performers were offensive linemen, and the other player was a tight end. Not a bad job for a quarterback turned running back.
Check out the running back bench pressing:

*Note: Two of his reps did not count.
Here's a look at his second 40-yard dash attempt:

It's safe to say that McKinnon turned some heads in Indianapolis.
