Florentino Perez: Is There Anyone Who Could Stop This Guy ?

Mohamed Eldin MasriJun 11, 2009

There is an old saying, "Those who have money spend, and those who don't applaud."

As an Arsenal fan I've been the latter for almost all my life.

A few months ago after the Ramon Calderon scandal the Spanish magazine Marca made something that was supposed to be a joke. They issued made up pictures of Perez back in charge, Zidane as his adviser and Kaka as their first signing holding the no.5 shirt.

Now usually people laugh and say "That's funny" or "Dream on", but not Perez. He transformed that dream into a reality, no one dared to enter elections against him, later on he bought Kaka (it remains to be seen if he'll wear No. 5 or not) and not too long ago Manchester United issued on their Official Website that they gave CR7 and Real Madrid permission to negotiate a transfer.

It seems that "The Perez Effect" is working with ease, no club has said "No" to Perez so far, and I doubt that many will.

Let me put this in a way so that everyone can feel how serious the situation is. Perez can get almost anyone he desires, If he offers you 60 million for you to sell your Mom and Dad to the Zoo, you'll say "Absolutely". If he tells you to jump, you ask "How high?".

Real are on a spending spree, and everyone on the planet is applauding, even the so-called richest club on Earth. They offered Milan over 100 Million for Kaka, Perez bought him for 65 Million. It takes unimaginable power to be able to convince all these clubs to sell their star players, it takes more power to convince these players to come to Madrid and forget about their old clubs.

The only thing that should worry the Madrid fans is that there are no defenders being mentioned so far.

The so-called joke that Marca made is now a reality, and we were all laughing.

But not anymore.
