Fantasy Baseball Free Agent Pool: Runs and Ribbies

Some reasonably available players to assist you in the runs and/or RBI categories.

Runs

Dexter Fowler, OF, Colorado Rockies

Dexter scored seven runs last week while hitting .300 (6-for-20) with a HR and three RBI. On the year he’s hitting .261 with 29 runs, three HRs, 13 RBI, and 11 SBs. He’s owned in 22 percent of Yahoo!, 14.4 percent of ESPN, and 33 percent of CBS leagues.

Lyle Overbay, 1B, Toronto Blue Jays

Lyle scored six runs last week while hitting .455 (10-for-22) with two HRs. He also qualifies in the RBI category with nine. On the year he’s hitting .301 with 22 runs, seven HRs, and 32 RBI. He’s owned in 26 percent of Yahoo!, 6.3 percent of ESPN, and 40 percent of CBS leagues.

Scott Podsednik, OF, Chicago White Sox

Pods was mentioned in yesterday’s Speed Demons list because of his SBs. He scored six last week.

Jack Cust, OF/DH, Oakland A’s

He’s not hitting (.095 last week, .236 on the season), but he does manage to score runs (six last week, 34 season), hit HRs (2, 10), and pick up RBI (5, 33). He’s owned in 36 percent of Yahoo!, 23 percent of ESPN, and 47 percent of CBS leagues.

RBI

Ian Stewart, 2B/3B, Colorado Rockies

Ian raked last week with 12 RBI, nine runs, four HRs, and a .419 (13-for-31) average. He’s fairly well taken in Yahoo! (64 percent) and CBS (76 percent), but he’s fairly available in ESPN (19.1 percent) leagues.

The same goes for Minnesota’s OF/DH Jason Kubel, who is owned in 62 percent of Yahoo! and 68 percent of CBS, but just 45 percent of ESPN leagues. He had nine RBI last week, four runs, three HRs, and a .273 (6-for-22) average.

Jason Giambi, 1B/DH, Oakland A’s

Like Cust, Oakland’s Giambi is not hitting for average (.143 last week, .210 on the season) but is scoring runs (four last week, 31 season), hitting HRs (2, 8), and picking up RBI (8, 31). He’s owned in 26 percent of Yahoo!, 17.9 percent of ESPN, and 52 percent of CBS leagues if you can stomach his average.

Juan Rivera, OF, Los Angeles Angels

Rivera had seven RBI last week while hitting .292 (7-for-24) with a run and a HR. On the  year he’s hitting .307 with 17 runs, six HRs and 26 RBI. He’s owned in 18 percent of Yahoo!, 6.1 percent of ESPN, and 20 percent of CBS leagues.

Kevin Kouzmanoff, 3B, San Diego Padres

Kouz had seven RBI last week while hitting .227 (5-for-22) with a run and a HR. On the year he’s hitting .225 with 14 runs, five HRs, and 27 RBI. He’s owned in 10 percent of Yahoo!, 6.7 percent of ESPN, and 38 percent of CBS leagues.

Jason Jaramillo, C, Pittsburgh Pirates

Jason had six RBI last week while hitting .250 (5-for-20) with three runs. On the year he’s hitting .267 with 11 runs, one HR, and 14 RBI. He’s owned in four percent of Yahoo!, 0.6 percent of ESPN, and five percent of CBS leagues.
