Goal Light Blimp Over Canada Will Go Off Every Time Hockey Team Scores Goal

Kyle NewportFeb 13, 2014

Even if people in Canada aren't watching their men's hockey team at the 2014 Winter Olympics, they will know when Team Canada scores a goal over in Sochi.

Team Canada is viewed as one of the favorites to take home gold at the Sochi Games, so the citizens back home should be pumped for the Olympics. There is no better way to unite everyone than to have an alert system to celebrate goals.

Check out what will be flying over Canada throughout the Olympics:

Red Zeppelinthe blimpnow becomes the world's largest goal light.

The details, via Canada.com's Jon Dekel, are awesome:

"

Flying up to 20-30 km/h and between 150- 400 feet high, the Red Zeppelin will fly over Canadian cities this February, lighting up with over 16,800 LED lights everytime the home hockey team scores a goal.

The 400 pound blimp is also equipped with a four speaker sound system for maximum goal alerting.

"

Every time Team Canada scores, there's going to be a party on the streets.

This might seem familiar to some—Budweiser used the Red Zeppelin in a 60-second ad during Super Bowl XLVIII:

Expect this blimp to be used frequently.
