Carlo Ancelotti said he was not interested in bringing players in or letting players go in January, perย Sky Sports, and that is exactly how the month unraveled.

However, even Ancelotti would surely admit there will be business to be done in the summer.

With January now out of the way, murmurs will begin about potential summer business among Europeโ€™s biggest clubs.

The following slides will let you know whoโ€™s saying what about Madrid.

Courtois on Radar

Monday, Feb. 10

According to The Mirror, Real Madrid plan on making a move for Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtoisย in the summer, with the Belgian currentlyย on loan atย Atletico Madrid.

The English newspaper cites a source in Spain:

"

As soon as Courtois arrived on loan at Atletico from Chelsea, a file was opened on him under instructions from Mourinho.

The information built up is exhaustive and Courtois is on Madridโ€™s list of targets, despite the presence of Iker Casillas and Diego Lopez in Carlo Ancelottiโ€™s squad.

"

It could, in theory, blow the Casillas/Lopez debate out of the picture.

However, even if this rumour is true, it is unlikely Mourinho will want to strengthen Madrid by selling them the world's best young goalkeeper.ย

Isco Linked with England

The most tenuous link of the day goes to ASย (Spanish language only), who are claiming that Manchester United have moved into pole position to sign Isco in the summer.

While it may be true that the young Spanish international has struggled to play minutes recently, it's unlikely he will have grown frustrated at the Bernabeu just yet.

If he has, he's hardly the ideal target for United.

The Red Devils have just signed Juan Mata, and it seems clear that their need is for a deeper midfielder, rather than another playmaker like Isco.ย
