Full Preview for WWE Main Event Featuring Zack Ryder and Big E Langston

The Doctor Chris MuellerFeb 4, 2014

Welcome to your weekly spoiler-free preview of WWE Main Event. Here you will get a rundown of all of the matches set to take place and the possible effects on any storylines.

Another week, another three random matches on Main Event, but the good news is that the matches set for this week all seem like they could be pretty good.

There's no point in wasting any time. Let's take a look at the bouts set to take place this Wednesday.

TOP NEWS

WRESTLING: OCT 02 AEW Dynamite/Rampage Pittsburgh
Monday Night RAW

Miz vs. Fandango

Miz made a big deal out of being poorly booked on Monday when he came out during a match and ranted for a few seconds on a headset before storming off. Fandango was in a dance contest.

I wonder which one of these men is starting a new push?

Miz and Dolph Ziggler are rumored to be forming a duo of angry Superstars who are looking to take what they want instead of waiting for opportunities.

Fandango and Summer Rae lost the dance off to Emma and Santino, who will be on commentary for this match.

Despite Fandango possibly starting an angle with Santino and Emma, he is probably not going to go over former WWE champion The Miz in this one.

Zack Ryder vs. Alberto Del Rio

Two Zack Ryder appearances in a row? Either someone forgot that this wasn't WWE Superstars or everyone's favorite Broski is finally seeing some TV time again.

Unfortunately for Ryder, his appearance on Raw was basically to job to someone else, and it's very possible that we could see the same on Main Event.

But considering this is going to be the second match of the night, we may just see Ryder put up a decent fight. Typically the opener is the longest match on Wednesdays, but the second bout is usually decent length.

Ryder might not be getting the push he wants, but being back on TV in any way is a step in the right direction. Hopefully the fans can rally behind Ryder like they used to and get people in WWE to notice his value again.

As far as Del Rio is concerned, this will most likely just be another win on his way to eventually facing Batista.

Big E Langston vs. Curtis Axel

The current Intercontinental champion will be taking on the former champion in the third and final match of the night, and Ryback is likely to be at ringside to support his partner.

Langston will receive a bit of a hometown welcome since he played for the Iowa Hawkeyes in college, and the hometown hero will probably walk out with the win, too.

A feud between Ryback and Langston has been teased, and Axel is most likely being fed to Langston to further the program and push towards the eventual match the two powerhouses will have.

Axel and Langston both have the wrestling chops to make this a fun match so long as it's not a quick squash.

That's it for this week. What match are you looking forward to the most?
