Map Breaks Down Boundaries of Yankees and Red Sox Nations

The New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox not only battle on the field in baseball's biggest rivalry, but the two teams also battle for fans in the Northeast.

It has always been a mystery as to where Yankees nation ends and Red Sox nation begins. As it turns out, it's a fairly clean split.

The Harvard Sports Analysis Collection's Ben Blatt shows where the border separating the fans is:

Once we hit the border that New York shares with Vermont and Massachusetts, there's not much debate as to which team the citizens are rooting for. 

However, Connecticut is undecided:

It's not very surprising to see the Red Sox own the Northeast, especially considering their success over the past decade. Thanks to research, we are finally able to see where the border between the fans lies.
