If oddsmakers are correct, players will be standing around a bit longer than usual before the Super Bowl.

The Super Bowl national anthem prop was set at 2:20 for an over-under, a full half-minute longer than the average of the past eight pregame renditions of the Star Spangled Banner.

The NFL announced that opera singer Renee Fleming will perform the national anthem for the 2014 Super Bowl, marking the first time an opera singer has ever been selected to sing at the Super Bowl.

Odds on the length of time it will take her to complete it have been hovering around two minutes and 20 seconds. Odds on the game, for those more focused on football than the national anthem, remained around -2.5 in favor of Denver, although one book monitored by Odds Shark had the Broncos at just -1.

The average length of the national anthem over the last eight Super Bowls has been one minute, 56 seconds, with Billy Joel belting out the shortest version in a mere 1:30 in 2007, just before Super Bowl 41. Kelly Clarkson was 1:34 two years ago.

However, pop star Alicia Keys took the longest time—two minutes and 35 seconds—prior to 2013's game between Baltimore and San Francisco.

Last July, President Barack Obama awarded Fleming with America's highest honor for an individual artist, the National Medal of Arts, at a White House ceremony.
