Andy Murray Sparks, Then Denies, Kim Sears Wedding Rumours
Wimbledon champion Andy Murray appeared to confirm that he will marry his long-term girlfriend Kim Sears in 2014—shortly after the defence of his title at SW19—only to deny all once stories got up and running in the media.
The Scot, who has won two Grand Slams and is the greatest British tennis player in living memory, looked to have revealed the news while doing a Twitter Q and A session.
"@saravana_24 we are getting married just after Wimbledon should be a great day
— Andy Murray (@andy_murray) January 29, 2014"

But just as the media swept into action to relay the news—including the original version of this article—Murray spoke again.
"3 things.. I don't smoke grass, I'm not getting married(yet) and I don't want to kill rafael Nadal..

Murray, if he didn't know it already, will have now discovered just how great the public interest in his eventual wedding to Sears would be.
According to the Daily Mail, the pair have been together since 2006 and have lived together for the past four years. Sears, 25, whose father, Nigel, is a tennis coach who until last year had been working with Ana Ivanovic, is usually spotted following Murray across the world at tennis tournaments.
The 26-year-old has slipped to No. 6 in the world rankings after losing to Roger Federer in the quarter-finals of the recent Australian Open.
That ranking, however, reflects a lengthy injury layoff, with the Scot having back surgery after September's U.S. Open that ended his season prematurely. His return to full fitness is still not complete.
