John Heitinga has joined Fulham on loan until the end of the season, as confirmed by Fulham's official website.

Said the 30-year-old Dutchman:

"

Iโ€™m really pleased to get the move completed and Iโ€™m looking forward to playing my first game. I think itโ€™s a good move for myself and I'm looking forward to meeting my teammates. Iโ€™ve spoken already with Renรฉ Meulensteen and I think itโ€™s the right club for me.

This is a club with a great history and I always enjoyed playing at Craven Cottage, I really like it as a stadium. Itโ€™s not one of the biggest but itโ€™s got something special.

Wednesday, January 29

Everton have made an official enquiry for Nottingham Forest'sย Jamaal Lascelles, according toย The Daily Mail's Paul Collins.

Last week, the Toffees were fined ยฃ45,000 for an unauthorised approach back in 2010. Four years on, and it seems their interest in the centre-back has remained strong.

Collins also links Arsenal and Liverpool and claims the Gunners would be prepared to pay ยฃ3 million for Lascelles' services.

Increased Interest in Robertson

Wednesday, January 29

Everton will "ramp up" their interest in Andrew Robertson, according to The Dundee Evening Telegraph's Liam Kennedy.

Kennedy notes how Martinez has already watched the left-back this season and anticipates a bid arriving before Friday's transfer deadline.

Robertson would help cover Bryan Oviedo's injury and Kennedy expects a fee of ยฃ1.5 million would tempt Dundee United to sell.

Official: Baines Signs on

6 of 8

Monday, January 27

After unrelenting speculation through numerous transfer windows, Leighton Baines has signed a new contract at Everton, as revealed by the club's official website.

Martinez reflected on the extension, saying:

"

It would be an understatement to say we are delighted to secure the best footballing years ofย Leighton Bainesย at our club.ย It's long-term, so it's for the next four years and it's a phenomenal boost.

It's massive and exciting for the future. Leighton has just turned 29 and brings the right measure of maturity and football knowledge in a very specialised position on the pitch, bringing an infectious and positive influence to the rest of the squad.ย

"

The four-year deal ends any question about Baines' future and provides the club with a timely boost ahead of the Merseyside derby.ย

It would be a surprise to see Heitinga remain at Everton come Friday evening.ย
