Samuel Eto'o Makes Young Fan's Dreams Come True with Kickabout at Chelsea
Samuel Eto'o took some time out from training at Chelsea to make the dreams of a young fan come true after meeting him for a kickabout.
Nathan Thomas, 10, is suffering from a life-threatening liver condition. Through the efforts of the Chelsea Foundation and Make-A-Wish Foundation UK, he was brought to the Blues' training ground to meet his hero.
According to theย Daily Mail, Nathan has been a fan of the Cameroonian striker throughout his career after discovering he was the best striker in an old version of FIFA Soccer on the Nintendo DS.
The paper adds:
"Nathan, wearing an Inter Milan shirt with โEtoโo 9โ on the back, arrived at the training ground in Surrey in a white stretch limousine, along with parents Mel and Debbie and his seven-year-old brother Aiden.
The family watched first-team training before Etoโo joined the boys for a 20-minute kickabout on the indoor pitch.ย
Nathan was struck dumb when his hero strolled through the doors with a big smile on his face, but, in fairness, the young brothers coped considerably better with the striker than the Manchester United defence had done four days earlier.
"
As for Eto'o, the striker seemed genuinely moved by the afternoon, making plans for Nathan and his family to attend the FA Cup fourth-round match against Stoke at the weekend.
He later took to Instagram to recount his day.
"I met Nathan yesterday through the Make A Wish and@chelseafcย Foundations," Eto'o wrote. "But i still don't know which one of us was happier to meet the other one..."
