Oakland Raiders Will Overcome Struggles

The great thing about sports is the underdog, whether it is a team or an individual on a team. We identify their struggles with our own.  The Oakland Raiders are a team who's individuals make up the cells (body parts) of the team.  Like our own teams (family) we have strong links, weak links and links some where in the middle.

In the case of the Oakland Raiders there has been a constant barrage of attacks on the head link Al Davis (46 years NFL experience with the Raiders, 3-2 record in Super Bowls, including one against Vince Lombardi).

The team is made up of head coach Tom Cable (grinding it out in the trenches), the arm of JaMarcus Russell, the running backs Justin Fargas (a.k.a. crash dummy), Michael Bush and Darren McFadden along with Mike Mitchell.

These are people that, in any other circumstances, would be universally celebrated based on their achievements versus their circumstances (injuries, coaching/scheme changes).

Unfortunately, that has not been the case. In fact, the entire organization has been thrown under the bus so many times by multiple sources that you almost begin to believe it all.

I have a different view. If you go through some hard times one of two things happen.

1. You end up on the street pushing a grocery cart and collecting aluminum cans for a living.

2. You overcome your current situation through faith, hard work and a commitment to excellence in what ever you do.

I believe the Oakland Raiders fall into the latter category. With all the hard-working, committed personnel they have been adding and the can collection they have subtracted, there is only one possible outcome.

The Oakland Raiders will overcome there current position in the NFL. When that happens this Oakland native will celebrate with the rest of the Raider Nation. There is no better story than when the underdog gets back on top!
